W-2 / 1099 Questions

Q. How many companies can I have with a standard version ?
Q. Can we transmit IRS files over the internet with the standard and/or professional version?

Q. How do we enter our serial number if we have to reinstall the software or just
want to activate the software after using the trial software?

A. Only 1 company, but unlimited number of employees or recipients.

Q. Can we transmit IRS files over the internet with the standard and/or professional version?
A. No, you would have to add mag media upgrade, which costs $60 dolllars more.

Q. How do we enter our serial number if we have to reinstall the software or just want to activate the software after using the trial software?
A. To activate software at the main window (Burton-software company image in the back) go to the utilities menu > validate module features; in here you can just enter the BSW9 serial number that we have given you, then hit enter or validate.

Q. How come I didn't get all the features I thought I originally bought with the program?
A. You may have entered the wrong serial number. To check the features you have currently look at the bottom of the main screen of the program (Burton-software company image in the back) and see what features you have. For example: w2/1099 enabled, MagMedia enabled, etc. If it says demonstration version then you are still using a demonstration version, if you already made a purchased, email us at help@burton-software.com.

Q. How come I can't see buttons in the company selection screen?
A. One of the settings has been changed and needs to be reset. First right-click on your desktop and pull a submenu go to properties. Now go to appearance tab and for Item it should highlight desktop by default. Click on that and change it to inactive window border and change the size to one. Once finished click on apply and close that window. Exit out of the w2/1099 program and see if the settings work.

Q. I am having errors when doing tasks in the program. What should I do?
A. First, try to go to our website and download the latest patch.Click here to download latest patch/upgrades. Once patch has been downloaded, make sure to close the program or stop any instances from running if the program freeze on you. (To stop instance from running, press ctrl+alt+del and task manager comes up, end task with anything to do with W2Combo whether its running or not repsonding, end it) Second, try to redo the task that failed you the first time. Lastly, if all solutions are exhaused and still experiencing problems contact our support team.

Q. I am getting file not found errors. What should I do?

A. Contact our support team for more information on that issue. Be sure to take detailed notes about the error and what actions brought forth such errors.
